FUS Social Activities
Alliance
The Alliance is a member unit of the Unitarian Universalist Women's Federation.
Purpose
1. To bring its members into closer acquaintance and fellowship.
2. To encourage an interchange of ideas -- social, economic, and religious.
3. To give service and support to the Society and to philanthropic movements as may seem advisable.
4. To promote and extend the influence of liberal religion and especially of this Society.
5. To encourage and inspire personal growth.
MEMBERSHIP
Annual membership dues are $20, which includes dues for the UU Women's federation and a subscription to the UUWF newsletter, The Communicator. Dues are payable on Sept. 1, 1999, or on becoming a member. Dues may be paid by check at the next luncheon, left in the Alliance box in the FUS office, or mailed to the Treasurer: Barbara Nelson, 3533-46th Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55406.
MEETINGS
Regular meetings are held on the first Wednesday of October, November, February, March, April, May, and June at the Society with the exceptions noted in The First Unitarian.
1. The program starts at 11:00 am, lunch is served at 12:00 noon followed by a business meeting at 1:00 pm. If you have made a lunch reservation but are unable to attend, please call 612-340-1363 at least 48 hours before the designated lunch date. The Alliance is financially responsible for all commitments to caterers. Members are expected to pay for uncancelled reservations.
2. Discussion Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month from September through May with the exceptions noted in The First Unitarian. Meetings start at 10:30 am. Members bring their own sandwiches. Coffee and dessert are provided.
3. The Play Reading Group meets at 12:45 pm on the same Wednesdays as the Discussion Meetings.
4. The Board, which consists of the Officers, Chairs, and Co-chairs of committees, and the Immediate Past Presidents, meets as noted in the program.
