About the Kurt Pearson Social Concerns Fund Grants
The Kurt Pearson Social Concerns Fund was established in loving memory of Kurt who was a life-long Unitarian and member of FUS. His enthusiasm covered the world. A young man of wit and wisdom, with an active social conscience, Kurt's life was cut short by AIDS. He died on August 13, 1991, at the age of 29. Grants are made each year in October near Kurt's birthday.
- smaller organizations with limited access to other support,
- organizations that have not received a previous Pearson grant,
- organizations that work primarily in the Twin Cities region, and
- projects that will likely have an impact beyond the project itself (ripple effect).
