Jan Devor
Director, Religious Education

Jan Devor was born and raised in a small town in Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She taught fifth through eighth grades for 13 years while living in Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota. She is married with two teenage children and has returned to Minnesota after living the last 11 years in Concord, Mass. While in Concord, she was the Director of Religious Education at First Parish, Unitarian Universalist Church for six years.

At the First Unitarian Society, Jan oversees the religious education program from babies through 12th grade. She sees that there is loving childcare, programs that provide social action, information, sprirtual development and fun for all of the children and youth here. There are classrooms for each grade level and the curriucula is developed to be activity based and interactive. The junior and senior high groups are large and active. It is wonderful to see children and youth grow and thrive in a community that values them and their religious search.
